Victoria performs “Our Happiness” by Sarah Gibson at the LA HEAR NOW Festival!

“Speaking of sex-gender equality and how we express ourselves - Sin City Opera brings to the stage famous operatic “Pants Roles” (women playing men, and a few men playing women) to help bring awareness to our community about how diverse a world we are. Victoria premieres Sarah Gibson’s “Our Happiness” and Jordan Nelson’s Sparks on the Wheel with French Hornist Jason Allison and Sarah at the piano. The pieces are part of a collection entitled Side Walks commissioned by Fox and Allison, which explore the relationships between solitude and togetherness, the wilderness and the metropolitan. Gibson is this year’s OME Festival composer in residence and Side Walks will be one of several of her pieces performed over the four day festival. Victoria joins pianists Ashlee Young, Stephanie Cooke, and Grace Shimer in an offering of vulnerability, shared humanity, authenticity, and of course, connection. By sharing the artists' personal stories behind the pieces they present, the members of The Connection Experiment welcome audiences to share in all parts of creative process and enjoy music outside of the traditional concert box. 

Composer Julia Adolphe and Librettist Stephanie Fleischmann share and workshop the libretto for their upcoming work, A Barrel of Laughs, A Veil of Tears. An invited audience will receive a special behind-the-scenes peak as actors bring life to Fleischmann’s creative genius and Victoria Fox and Hila Plitmann pair music to words with a special performance of the opera’s newest scene.

Victoria joins the talented soprano phenom Hila Plitmann in concert at The Boston Court Performing Arts Center. With commissions already performed by the New York Philharmonic, and the LA Chamber Orchestra, this evening with the young and gifted American composer includes a sneak preview of selections from her new opera, A Barrel Of Laughs, A Vale Of Tears, co-commissioned by Boston Court.

Victoria presents a sneak peak of two new works for mezzo, piano, and French horn by composers Sarah Gibson and Jordan Nelson. She also returns to Julia Adolphe's "Noon, not a sound", a piece that was written for her in 2012. 

Victoria joins Grammy Award winning soprano Hila Plitmann in performing scenes from Julia Adolphe's new opera, "A Barrel of Laughs, A Veil of Tears" based on Jules Feiffer's Award winning children's book.
